The Light Rail is a form of public transportation that goes from Phoenix to Tempe and to Mesa. They all decided that I must experience the Light Rail while in Phoenix. It was a simple yet fun adventure for us!

Drive to and From Phoenix
This past weekend a group of friends and I all went to Phoenix for a little get away. Phoenix is about the same distance from Flagstaff that Columbia is from Charleston. I just wanted to share some things that caught my eye while on the road!
Below Pictures: (1) Hot air balloons...It was super cool seeing someone actually in them because I haven't seen that before (2) The lane to the far left is the car pool lane on the highway. This is something I have only seen on TV before so everyone thought it was weird that I got so excited but this was new to me! (3) Chase Field the home of the Diamondbacks (4) Arizona State Stadium (5) This is the center where the Phoenix Suns play

Sechrist Staff Meeting
Talk with our moustaches is what we do in staff meeting! We have fun but we actually get a lot of work done. Every week two RA's do a presentation in staff meeting just to lighten the mood and cheer us up with something fun before the meeting starts. This was an awesome idea presented by our RHD and GARHD and really makes a good start to our staff meetings.

Dare to be Scared...
Taylor Haunted House was an actual Haunted House put on campus hosted by one of the Residence Halls. The Criminal Justice Living Learning community went to the Haunted House and I was terrified. I screamed the entire time! I could tell there was a lot of work and effort put into this and that made me appreciate this attraction even more. I love how NAU has events right on campus for their students. This is definitely an experience I will never forget here at NAU!

Sechrist Trick-O-Treating
Sechrist Hall Association set up a Halloween scene for the children to come and trick-o-treat. Hall Association in Sechrist Hall is always involved and makes sure to put in a lot of effort in whatever they do. I am so proud of the residents representing Sechrist!

Sechrist Halloween Party
All the Sechrist RA's hosted a Halloween party for the residents. We had team pumpkin carving, caramel apples, costume contests and hot chocolate as we danced the night away. The Halloween Party was awesome and the residents really turned out making this a success. Not only was this enjoyable for the residents but it was enjoyable for the RA's also as the pictures will tell the story for you!

I'm A Culture...Not A Costume
These posters all speak perfectly for themselves. As NAU embraced Halloween they also reminded the students to be considerate of others. They made this holiday both fun and educational, making sure the students would think about all the various stereotypes as they got dressed to go out and have a good time. This is one of the many things I love about NAU. NAU does not mind going the exta mile to make sure each and every student is respected as they strive to inform others on how to be open-minded and not to believe in stereotypes.
-Ti'a loving NAU more and more until next time
