NAU Ice Jacks

NAU Ice Jacks won last night 4-1. This was my first hockey experience ever and I absolutely loved it. There were several almost hockey fights but all the guys assured me that was normal for hockey. I will definitely be going back to another hockey game. I'm sure I came to the conclusion that if I have a son he will NEVER play hockey because they get slammed into the walls and fall all the time and I got nervous each time that happened. Hockey is like an adrenaline rush to me! GO NAU ICE JACKS!

Let's Give Thanks

RA's are required to host at least one program a month for their residents. Since November is the month of thanksgiving, I decided to have a program giving thanks. We gave thanks to our floor custodian. We gave custodial recognition to Sherry because of all the hard work she puts in on our floor. Sherry never complains and greets each and every one of us in the morning with a warm, welcoming smile. We could not have asked for someone better than Sherry to be in charged of our floor so that's why we showed our appreciation and GAVE THANKS!

First Snow of the Season

This weekend was the first snow of the season. I did not go outside to play in the snow but I'm sure this is only the beginning of a very long and cold winter here in Flagstaff!!

Rock Climbing with CCJ

The Criminal Justice Living Learning Community had an event where we went rock climbing with a few select professors! We had an absolute blast (even though I did not rock climb). Dr. A and Brooke (my favorite professor ever and former F.B.I. agent) joined us and actually rock climbed. I loved the event and how involved the professors are with students. They took out of their own schedule on Friday to spend with us and that made me appreciate them even more!

Home-Cooked Breakfast

On the way back to Flagstaff after an awesome weekend Yemisi's mom cooked us all breakfast. Words cannot speak for how great the food was. I haven't had a home-cooked meal since I've been in Flagstaff so this was a real treat for me. Her family was very welcoming and was the perfect end to a perfect weekend.
